Four of a household — a talati, her two-year-old son and her mother and father — have been amongst 5 killed after their automobile suffered a tyre burst and collided with a luxurious mini bus on National Highway 27 on the outskirts of Morbi city Sunday night. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed sorrow over the lack of lives and declared Rs 5 lakh ex gratia to the kin of the victims.
Police mentioned the incident passed off round 4 pm at Amarnagar, a village round 9 kilometres north of Morbi city on the NH 27. The victims have been recognized as Jigna Jobanputra (39), a talati-cum-mantri (income clerk) with the state authorities, her son Riyansh (2), her father Mahendra Raveshiya (65) and mom Sudha Raveshiya (63). The fifth sufferer was recognized as Jadavji Bhudiya (43), a resident of Madhapar village in Kutch.
Police mentioned the talati and her mother and father have been residents of Morbi city and that Mahendra Raveshiya was an advocate by occupation. Raveshiya’s husband Jigar who was driving the automobile was injured within the accident and has been admitted to a hospital in Morbi.
“The family were returning to their home in Morbi after attending a marriage ceremony in Kutch when one of the tyres of their car burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car jumped the road divider and crashed into a tempo traveller coming from the opposite direction,” VL Patel, police inspector of Morbi taluka, informed The Indian Express.
NH 27 connects Morbi with Kutch district. Police mentioned the Raveshiyas and Jobanputras have been on their approach again from Katariya village in Bhachau taluka of Kutch after attending a marriage ceremony.
The police inspector mentioned that round 13 passengers have been travelling on the luxurious mini-bus. “The passengers suffered minor injuries. But besides the five who succumbed, Jigar is the only person who suffered serious injuries and has been hospitalised,” added Patel.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Panchayat, Brijesh Merja rushed to the hospital in Morbi the place these injured within the accident have been admitted and met the members of the family of the sufferer and instructed the hospital administration to supply the very best therapy.
